It’s Never too Young to Ride a Horse
At what age can a child sit on a horse?
Those who don’t have or know horses will say when the child is about thirty years old. And then only with a helmet and safety net.
Those that live with horse will say at about three…months. -)
Granted, at the age of three months the child sits on a horse with an adult. But many would frown and be “devastated” at the thought, including grandma.
Our granddaughter began as I expected early. At the grand age of about three months she sat on a horse with her Mom.
My wife was astounded “I don’t believe” were her first words and continued “It’s dangerous” . This is the reaction of almost anyone who hears about it or sees the photograph.
But, those who live with horses, know them individually, also know what and when one can be on one with a child.
Obviously no one thinks of breaking into a gallop with a baby.
The pictures with our granddaughter and our son, her dad, are what spurred me into writing this post. Here she is a little older at about six months.
